Celsian Education are working closeley with a school in Solihull who are looking to recruit a number of Maths graduates to work as an Academic Mentor with their KS3 & KS4 students.

*** £60 - £80 per day
In this Academic Mentor role you must be a confident and energetic Maths (or maths based) graduate who has earned at least a second class degree and ideally have some school-based experience from a previous role or other experience in mentoring fellow students. You will have the drive to keep your students motivated using your creative manner and positive approach to learning. You will have the skills to create professional yet personal relationships with students that will help you to understand their strengths and weaknesses.
As part of your role as a Mentor you will be supporting Mathematics throughout the school, this will include supporting SEN pupils through academic, social and personal elements of school life. A large part of your timetable will be supporting small groups of Year 11, GCSE pupils in booster classes to give them extra confidence with the curriculum. It is important that you begin learning new skills from the start of your career, that is why the school give each Academic Mentor and Teaching Assistant a mentor, yours will be the Head of Maths who has a history of supporting aspiring students.
