Celsian Education are recruiting 2 x Cover Supervisors for a successful secondary school in Stockport.
Cover Supervisors are non-teaching staff who look after a whole class while the regular teacher is absent. A Cover Supervisor will mainly assist where lesson plans have been left and will not participate in active learning, a higher bearing is placed on behavioural management in this role.
The school has a clear and positive ethos, the central focus is the achievement of the students. This is not solely defined by academic standards, achievement will take many forms depending on the individual potential, interests and talents of each young person. Governance is strong and makes an effective contribution to the school's improving performance.
Relationships are strong, and this helps students to learn well. Students work extremely hard, and they are welcoming and polite to adults and to each other.
The ideal candidates would be those who have classroom experience, those who have been supply teaching, those who have part completed their NQT year or graduates considering a career in teaching.
The role requires:
· Strong behaviour management skills
· Ability to use initiative
· Excellent curriculum knowledge
· Delivering work and setting homework previously prepared by the teacher
· Undertaking observations of the pupils and contributing to pupil records
There is a part time role and a full time role available, and the pay rate will be between £60 and £80 per day.
