Celsian Education are recruiting on behalf of a local organisation which aims to support 16-18 year olds who did not have full access to compulsory education. We are looking for a Skills Tutor to work across 3 sites in Greater Manchester.

The purpose of the role is to support the young learners currently enrolled on employability programmes studying a number of subjects, such as English, Maths, Art and ICT. The main focus will be to provide guidance and support to ensure retention on the programme and full achievement of qualifications.

About the role:
Managing a caseload of learners
Delivering effective training sessions that will engage and challenge learners
Monitoring progression and ensuring reviews are undertaken regularly
Assisting with the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Providing support and guidance for learners that have been identified as needing additional support to achieve their full programme of learning

About you:
Previous experience supporting children or young adults in an educational environment
Level 3 qualification in Maths and English
A strong understanding of Awarding Body standards and assessment practices for English and Maths
Excellent planning and organisations skills in order to meet tight deadlines
Ability to motivate young people, building confidence and skills to progress with their education and/or career

The position will be full time and the salary will between £18,000 and £20,000 per annum, dependant on experience.
