Celsian Education are currently recruiting for a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant for a mainstream primary school based in Oldham to start after half term.
The positions will start after the half term and will be provisionally until Christmas but is likely to be extended until the end of the academic year, depending on funding.
The role is a full time role to work 1:1 solely with an ASD child who has joined the school in year 1. The move has been a challenge for the child so the school are keen to ensure they appoint the right candidate, to avid any further disruption.
All potential candidates should have a strong background of challenging behaviour and recent experience working with children with ASD.
The successful candidate will be able to show the following:
- Understanding pupils needs
- Positive influence
- Working with challenging behaviour or autism
- Worked in a supporting role within a school setting
- Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualification
