Have experience supporting secondary pupils on a 1:1 basis with special educational needs such as SEMH, EBD & Autism? Celsian Education are seeking a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant for a school based in Stockport. This position is due to start in December 2017 and would initially be on a temporary basis and for the right candidate leading to a permanent position within the school.

The school help support pupils who are disengaged or permanently excluded from mainstream schools. The special needs the school caters for are EBD, SEMH, BESD and pupils who are on the Autistic Spectrum.

On behalf of the school Celsian are looking to recruit someone that is able to work in a challenging setting, not easily offended and able to adapt quickly and effectively to changes, this may mean working across both sites within the day so candidates must have their own transport. They type of person we are looking for is the following:- Confident- Able to build strong lasting relationships quickly- Resilient - Experienced working with students with SEN at secondary level- Good understanding of challenging behaviour - Strong behaviour management

Qualifications such as the following are desirable and would help your application:- NVQ/Cache Teaching Assistant qualification- Special Educational Needs NVQ/Degree- Team Teach/MAPA
