Do you have a unique ability to build relationships with pupils who are struggling to engage with their education

Celsian Education are currently working with secondary schools in the Rotherham and surrounding areas to recruit calm and caring behaviour mentors to work on a one to one basis with pupils with challenging behaviour.

Resilient and strong behaviour management skills are essential, as well as proven experience of supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, preferably in a Secondary or SEN school environment.

The schools are looking for people who understand the needs of their students. You will be working with students across Key Stage 3 and 4 aged 11 - 16, all students have been excluded from mainstream education and are supported and encouraged back in to mainstream school.

We are looking for hard working individuals who are confident and happy working with challenging behaviour in an educational setting, you will need the following experience to be a successful candidate.

Experience working within a Pupil Referral Unit or a similar setting would be advantageous. Having a strong understanding of the social and emotional needs of young people, a resilient approach and willing to overcome challenges that will occur daily are the attributes we are looking for.

Having the Team Teach qualification is required for some of the establishments.
