BECOME A COVER SUPERVISOR

Are you a University Graduate who is interested in working in schools? Or are you experienced as a Teaching Assistant and wants to take the next step to deliver lessons in a teachers absence?

Celsian Education has developed a free and comprehensive training programme for you to develop skills to become a Cover Supervisor.

What is a Cover Supervisor?

A member of staff who supervise pupils carrying out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are absent.

What will I learn?

On this thorough 1-day course, you'll learn how to manage a classroom when teaching staff are absent, including covering lessons, supervising work already set and managing students behaviours. On the course you'll cover a number of modules, including:

- How to be an effective cover supervisor

- Behaviour management

- Safeguarding & e-safety

Am I eligible to take the course?

If you have previous experience working with children in different areas or are studying for a degree, have already graduated or are looking for a new career, you could be trained to become a cover supervisor.

You must be available to register for work with us for 2 or more days a week and have a DBS on the update service in place, or happy to process a new one with us.

Who teaches the course?

The course will be taught by an ex-Ofsted Inspector and Senior Leader with over 20 years experience in a variety of educational establishments.

Once youve completed this course youll be fully competent to carry out Cover Supervisor roles in a school.
