Celsian Education currently requires an enthusiastic and proactive learning support assistants (LSA) to work in various secondary schools throughout Derbyshire.The role will require you to work with young people with Autism and challenging behaviour.Class sizes are often small when in SEN provisions within the secondary schools. However support within the school within lessons and outside of lessons at break and lunch times. Ideally, you will;Have previous experience working with children, or young adults, with different educational needsA good knowledge of the national curriculum or confident in supporting small groups with particular subject/s (e.g.numeracy, literacy booster groups)Capable of dealing with challenging behaviour, promoting focus, classroom management and on-going 1:1 support wherenecessaryGood interpersonal and communication skillsGeneral knowledge/understanding of ASD and complex needs, and the approaches required to facilitate complete accessto the curriculum for these pupilsAs a learning support assistant, you will support and facilitate pupil's academic, social and personal development.
