Celsian Education are recruiting on behalf of a select number of client primary schools in the Derby City and Derbyshire area for temporary, long term Teaching Assistants (TAs), to work with children who require nurture support. Our schools provide quality education for children within the local area, providing the foundations for their pupils' development in order for them to progress as confident and effective learners and happy, considerate citizens of the future. Nurture Teaching Assistants are vital to the overall learning and development of pupils at these schools, tailoring their approach to optimise learning opportunities.

The School - Derbyshire

Primary schools with pupils requiring additional support include a small and happy primary school in the Duffield area of Derbyshire who strive to create an atmosphere of belonging, where all children and adults feel safe, valued and included. Children and staff here are happy, generous, and hardworking - showing a real passion for their school, and visitors comment on their positive attitude, and the genuine pride they have for their school. A number of pupils within KS1 (years 1 and 2) have been identified as most likely to benefit from the additional support of a Nurture TA who can dedicate some 121 and in class time to continuing to boost their confidence, develop their social skills and ability to interact appropriately with other children and adults, and support their Independence and personal care.

Person Specification - Primary Nurture Teaching Assistant (TA) - Derby

The successful Primary Nurture Teaching Assistant (TA) applicant will have strong literacy and numeracy skills; be enthusiastic, proactive and engaging; be able to provide effective support to all children and small groups or on a 121 basis under direction of the teacher, including those with special educational needs; be comfortable supporting children with lower levels of self esteem or lower than expected communication and personal care skills.

Successful Applicants will be subject to references and an up to date DBS with update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS.

You will be supporting pupils in Key Stage 1 fostering a love of learning, in a nurture role.
