Behaviour Mentor- Derby Academies- £60-70 per day

Celsian Education are looking on behalf of Derby City Academies to recruit a dynamic, adaptable and relational Learning and Behaviour Mentors to provide 1-1 mentoring to a student with a range of moderate to complex learning and or behavioural needs. The applicant will be required to work from a range of learning environments i.e. Library, Public Offices, Leisure Facilities. Due to the nature of the student, the successful Tutor will show initiative in developing an engaging and successful course structure in order to help develop and mature the learner to achieve not only the designated qualifications, but also the personal characteristics necessary for successful independent living and work life.

Behaviour Mentor- Derby Academies Experience and Skills

- A strong understanding of complex needs and SEN

- Experience of working in a support role within education or training (preferred)

- Awareness of psychology and its impact on learning, development and relationships

- Ability to build rapport quickly with learners, staff and service users

- Excellent relationship and communication skills

- Strong academic grounding (English and Maths in particular) and ability to teach low level learners core subjects of Functional Skills, Personal Development and Life skills.

- Positive outlook and approach

- Previous roles working with challenging students (desirable)

- Resilient and strong character (essential)

- Degree (advantageous)
