Would you like to have a positive impact by supporting a child at KS2 with special educational needs within a mainstream primary school? Do you have experience of working with children with Autism, and/or Social Emotional Mental Health in a school, nursery, or care setting?

Celsian Education are recruiting on behalf of a client primary school in the Spondon area of Derbyshire for a temporary, part time, long term 121 SEN TA from Jan to July 19, working every morning with a year 5 pupil with SEN.

Our schools provide quality education for children within the local area with special educations needs within mainstream primary settings, providing the foundations for their pupils' development in order for them to progress as happy, confident and effective learners. 121 SEN TAs are vital to the overall learning and development of pupils at these schools, who can tailor their approach in order to optimise the learning opportunities of pupils in their care. The successful applicant will be working with primary aged children at KS2, with needs including ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), which includes Autism, Aspergers, and speech and language needs, and challenging behaviours on a 121 basis every morning from 8:30 to 12:00.

The School - Derbyshire

Under the leadership of a Headteacher who was described by OFSTED as "a talented leader" this is a safe and pleasant environment in which to work, located in the Spondon area of Derbyshire. A strong culture of safety pervades the school; pupils say that they feel safe and are happy, and parents agree that the school keeps their children safe.

One part time post is available every morning Monday to Friday from 8:30 to 12:00, either with an ASAP start or from January to July 19.

Person Specification - Long term 121 SEN TA - Jan to July - Derbyshire

The successful applicant will have strong literacy and numeracy skills; be enthusiastic, proactive and engaging; be able to provide effective support to KS2 children on a 121 basis under direction of the teacher, including those with special educational needs including ASD and behavioural needs.

Successful Applicants will be subject to references and an up to date DBS with update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS.

About the Role - Long term 121 SEN TA - Jan to July- Derbyshire

You will be supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 on a part time basis for 5 days per week to foster a love of learning.
