Free Cover Supervisor Training: Monday 4th March
Are you confident and outgoing? Do you have an energetic and vibrant personality? Are you a natural leader? These traits will make you an excellent Cover Supervisor.
Are you a University Graduate who is interested in working in schools or thinking about becoming a Teacher? Why not get paid to gain experience in the classroom.
Have you got experience in being controlling and engaging groups of people? If you have experience as a Sports Coach? Lead teams of up to 40 people at a time? Got proven experience of crowd control? You have the skills to become a Cover Supervisor.
What is a Cover Supervisor?
A member of staff who supervise pupils carrying out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are absent.
We work with local secondary schools in Chesterfield that you will be introduced to. We aim for you to build long-term relationships at these schools so you get consistency in work and becoming part of the integral school team.
What will I learn?
On this thorough 1-day course, you'll learn how to manage a classroom when teaching staff are absent, including covering lessons, supervising work already set and managing students behaviours. On the course you'll cover a number of modules, including:
- How to be an effective Cover Supervisor
- Behaviour management
- Safeguarding & e-safety
Once you've completed this course we will arrange for you to shadow a cover supervisor in a school. You will then be fully competent to carry out Cover Supervisor roles in our schools.
Am I eligible to take the course?
You must be available to register for work with us for 2 or more days a week and have a DBS on the update service in place, or happy to process a new one with us.
