SEMH Teaching Assistant l Stockport
Celsian Education are working with an independent special school in the Stockport area who are looking for positive Teaching Assistants to work with SEND students; this is to start as soon as possible and if successful will lead to a permanent contract.

This small special school caters for young people across key stage 2 and key stage 3 that have a range of SEND such as Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH) and children who are looked after. The role of an SEND Teaching Assistant will require you to work on a one a one-to-one basis and with small groups of students. You will promote positive behaviour and ensure that all pupils have access to learning, helping within various lessons, outdoor activities and improving social and life skills too.
This position would suit a flexible and confident TA that has experience dealing with pupils either in a mainstream or SEND setting who have additional needs that lead to challenging behaviour.
To be successful in this SEMH Teaching Assistant role you will need:
- Experience supporting SEMH pupils
- Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills
- Excellent behaviour management
