An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced science technician to work within a highly successful secondary school based in Shropshire starting September 2019.The school is a 7-18 independent school based in Shropshire and has around 240 students on roll set in a magnificent grade I listed building. Staff who work at this school comment on its welcoming atmosphere and their polite, well behaved and motivated pupils.Hours: 35 hours per week, Term Time only (35 weeks) 8.30am - 4:30pm School day Less 1 hr for lunch (Free lunch included) Attendance at INSET days Successful applicants will have experience of working as a School Science Technician with the ability to cover all Science fields up to GCSE. You will be working as part of a team and report to the Senior Science Technician. It is also desirable that the right applicant will have previous administrative experience using all the Microsoft office application and have excellent organisational skills to assist both the science department and administration team with maintaining pupil data. Science Technician duties will include:Preparation of stock solutions and maintaining glassware in classroomsPreparing practical lessons prior to lessons and delivering to the classroomsGeneral up-keep of Science Technician laboratoryCarrying out regular health and safety checks on laboratories, preparation rooms and stores and provide technical support and health and safety advice to staff and studentsAssisting the administration team with ensuring all pupil data is kept up to dateImplementing procedures and regulations involving safe disposal of waste material Skills we look for in our Science Technicians include:Flexible and adaptable approach to workAt least 3 months experience within the last 2 years working as a science technician in an education settingEnhanced DBS check within last 12 months or registered on update serviceFlexible and adaptable approach to workAbility to work to own initiativeAbility to work alongside young people and adultsGood communication skills Apply Now:If you are interested in this role, please call Stacey on 0121 633 4698 for more information
