If so this Cover Supervisor role may be the ideal opportunity for you to gain valuable experience in schools before embarking upon your PGCE. As a cover supervisor you will be required to cover a range of lessons in the teachers' absence, ensuring students stay on task with work that has been set and offering support where needed. You will not have to plan or mark work and specific subject knowledge isn't necessary; you just need the enthusiasm and confidence to deliver the work that has been set.
To be successful in this Cover Supervisor role you will need:
- Experience working with in a school or with young people in other settings.
- To hold a degree level qualification
- Excellent communication skills
- To be organised and reliable
- Strong behaviour management
