ASD Teaching Assistant l Tameside
Celsian education are working with a Primary school in the Tameside area who are looking for a passionate Teaching Assistant specialising in ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder) to work on a long term placement starting in January 2020.
Are you experienced working with young people with autism? Can you use your knowledge and enthusiasm to help young people to develop both socially and academically?
The role will involve working on a one to one basis with a key stage 1 pupil with ASD within a warm and friendly primary school in Tameside. You will be supporting the student across a range of activities and lessons pre-set by the class teacher, but may need to adapt these to suit the individual needs of the child; so will need a flexible approach.
This position is specifically for TA that has experience dealing with pupils with autism who display behaviour difficulties.
To be successful in this ASD Teaching Assistant role you will need;
- Experience working with pupils SEND; specifically ASD
- Strong behaviour management
- Good literacy, numeracy and communication skills
- A positive attitude and flexible approach
- Team Teach trained (beneficial)
