Special Needs Teaching Assistant

Do you have a Team Teach qualification? If so, we would like to hear from you!

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference to the lives of vulnerable children who have additional needs.

At Celsian Education we are currently recruiting for experienced, innovative SEN Teaching Assistants with a Team Teach qualification to work at a specialist setting in North Leeds.

We are working alongside a group of specialist provisions in Leeds who are expanding their staffing team for the remainder of the academic year and therefore require additional staffing starting from January.

The provisions support students of both primary and secondary age who have Special Educational Needs, predominantly autism, and therefore require additional help. Your day would consist of doing some 1:1 work and also general classroom support. This is a rewarding role where every day will be different, so we are looking for someone who is adaptable and has experience working with students who have additional needs.

This role will include occasionally supporting students who can sometimes be challenging on a physical level, which is why Team Teach training is essential.

The main aim of Team Teach training is to promote de-escalation strategies and to teach a range of positive handling strategies and restraint techniques appropriate for children and young people.

If you are interested in this role but do not currently have the Team Teach certification, we do run the training so the option to complete the training through us is also available for the right candidates.

Successful candidates will have the chance to trial the school and see whether it is a good fit and then after working for a term there will be the opportunity to take a permanent contract with the school.

If you're passionate about supporting children from challenging backgrounds and this sounds like the kind of rewarding, challenging role for you, then apply ASAP via the links provided!
