We are currently looking for experienced, outstanding teaching assistants to work in a Specialist Setting in Leeds from September.

The Setting caters for pupils with a wide range of needs including moderate, severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties. In its most recent inspection, the School was graded as Good by OFSTED. Due to the specific needs of the pupils the Teaching Assistant should have an understanding of how to cater for young people with various needs.

These are 1:1 roles working with students who have complex and profound needs and disabilities therefore we are looking for people who have experience peg-feeding, using hoists and ideally have moving and handling training. The ideal candidate would be nurturing and able to create a positive and calm environment.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

· Experience working with individuals with SEN in any capacity

· Experience working within a Care or Residential Sector

· Experience or knowledge of PEG feedingThese are full time roles, initially on a temporary contract until the Christmas break with the opportunity to them take up permanent employment with the school and go onto their contract.

Experience working with non-verbal students and using educational tools such as Makaton and PECs would also be beneficial, but we do offer these courses amongst other CPD opportunities.
