1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant

Celsian Education are looking to recruit a teaching assistant for a secondary school in Birmingham.
The school ia looking to recruit a TA to support a KS4 child who has significant learning needs. The child has a diagnosis of ASD and is non verbal. This child with need support around school, hand holding to move around the school building. Structure and routine is very important. Although the child is a teenager, their cognitive ability is of a reception child. You will promote positive behaviour and ensure the young person has access to learning whilst also being involved in raising attainment for the pupil. This position is specifically for a candidate that has experience dealing with pupils either in a mainstream or SEND setting who have additional needs. You will need: -
- A calm and positive attitude
- Excellent behaviour management with knowledge of various teaching skills.
- A flexible approach to teaching
- Good numeracy, literacy and communication skills
- Able to build strong relationships with both students and staff.
- Experience of implementing specific learning strategies and routes.
