PMLD Teaching Assistant Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties Leeds - West Yorkshire Full Time - September Start

We are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work in a Specialist Provision in Leeds. The school cater for children and young people (aged 3-19) with Complex and Multiple Learning Needs and currently need an additional member of staff to support and work 1:1 with a student who has learning and medical needs.

The successful candidate will have a positive demeanour, be willing to get stuck in and be driven to make a difference. Peg feeding and moving and handling experience would be desirable, but the school do have specialist staff who are trained to assist with these needs. You must have some experience supporting young people with additional learning needs, whether in an educational or residential setting. A background of care experience would be beneficial.

The school is well adapted and as exceptional resources and skilled staff to support their students, including but not limited to a hydrotherapy pool, speech and language specialists and qualified nursing staff. The school implement a lot of visual learning techniques such as Makaton and PECS, so experience using these ways of communication is essential (this training can be provided by Celsian Education).

Specifics: - This is a full-time role working with students with Complex Needs.

- The school is situated in a central area of Leeds.

- Makaton, Pecs and Intensive Interaction training is required but can be provided.

- Pay is between £65 and £70 per day.
