Special Needs Teaching Assistant North LeedsFull Time To begin this September.

Celsian Education are looking for a teaching assistant who experience working with students on the autistic spectrum to work full time in an Outstanding Special School in North Leeds.

The school are looking for someone who is driven and passionate about helping students who have additional needs, with a background of knowledge of Autism whether in an educational or residential setting.

You will be patient, flexible and able to build effective relationships with the pupils and therefore contribute to their overall development.

Responsibilities and duties

Helping to differentiate work, coming up with new and refreshing ideas.

Working with the teacher to help the pupil access the curriculum, ensuring equal opportunities.

Supporting the pupil's social and emotional development

Helping the pupil to feel settled and comfortable in school

Working with potential challenging behaviour and/ or complex needs

Supporting students either on a classroom or 1:1 basis.

A relevant qualification in SEN would be beneficial but experience is essential. You would be joining part of a successful and driven team who are committed to ensuring that all students receive the care and opportunities that they deserve, so you would be expected to share the same level of commitment and dedication to the school.


- You will hold a current enhanced DBS certificate

- Be able to provide relevant up to date references supporting your experience

- You will have a background in ASD and be confident in supporting students
