Graduate Special Needs Teaching Assistant - Leeds

A Special School catering for pupils with a range of needs, including Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), Autism (ASD) and behavioural difficulties (EBD) are looking for Teaching Assistants to start this September for both long-term roles and daily supply.

There are a high proportion of autistic children attending the school so a good knowledge and understanding of autism is essential for the role. You must also be confident in managing challenging behaviours and able to de-escalate situations effectively.

The role will be very varied; you will need to be flexible to work with pupils aged 3-18 years old in a classroom setting but also working 1:1 with certain pupils. The school is in a lovely area, easily accessible by car or public transport and the staff are extremely supportive and welcoming.

Special Needs School - Leeds

The ideal candidate will have relevant experience working with students with additional needs whether this be in an educational or residential setting.

Pupils aged 3-18 with a wide range of ability levels and additional learning needs, including complex needs.

The class sizes are between 6-10 pupils per class
