Do you have recent experience working as a Learning Mentor? Have you previously worked with Children who are looked after (CLA)?
Celsian Education are working with a primary school in Manchester near Oldham who are looking to recruit an experienced Learning Mentor to support 2 Children who are looked after (CLA) to join their team in September
You will be responsible for the educational and social development of these children. This is a specialist role and the school require you to have a patient, calm and empathetic personality, and you will need to have the ability to positively engage with children quickly.
Celsian Education will be required to obtain at least 2 professional references to cover the last 2 years, 1 of which must be from an educational setting and all applicants will be required to hold an enhanced DBS that is on the update service or be willing to obtain a new one.
To be considered for this role, you will be required to:-
- Be able to work on a 1:1 or small group basis with children who are looked after
- Be able to build a strong positive relationship quickly
- Have experience dealing with challenging behaviour at times
- Have knowledge of working with children with Educational Health & Care Plans (EHCPs)
