Do you have experience supporting learners who have additional learning needs?

Are you looking for a new and rewarding challenge?

We are currently recruiting for Specialist Teaching Assistants to work within a Special Needs School in Leeds. The ideal candidates will have experience supporting children and young people with SEND in either a classroom or residential setting and be confident in de-escalation methods and managing challenging behaviours. Team Teach training would be advantageous.

You will be working with students with a variety of different special educational needs including Autism, ADHD, Downs Syndrome, Medical Needs and Visual and Hearing Impairments. Therefore, we are looking for confident and nurturing individuals who can create a calm and safe space and encourage engagement in learning.

Knowledge and recent use of methods to support nonverbal students such as PECs and Makaton would also be beneficial.

These are full time roles due to begin as soon as possible, initially on a temporary basis for the rest of the school term with the view of then becoming permanent roles. The school is situated in North Leeds in an easily accessible area with excellent public transport links and on-site parking.

You must have some experience supporting individuals with additional needs to be considered for the roles. All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and up to date and relevant references.

If you are interested in these roles, please APPLY NOW or contact us in branch for any further information.
