We are working closely with a Specialist school located in Leeds who require an additional learning support assistant to start as soon as possible. They are looking for an adaptable and dynamic teaching assistant who can support students with varying Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Initially, these roles will be on a temp basis, but the school are open to permanent appointments for strong candidates who really make a difference.
The school specialises in supporting students with complex needs and therefore requires staff with compassion, resilience and a genuine interest in supporting the well-being of others.
We are seeking people who have worked in similar settings, supporting children and young people with PMLD. The position is to work on a 1:1 basis or in a general teaching assistant capacity whilst in classes. Due to the through school nature of these clients, candidates should be prepared to work with students of either the primary or secondary age, the school caters for students between 3 and 19 years.
Experience working in a Special School or within a supported living setting would be ideal, moving and handling training would also be beneficial.
All applicants will require an enhanced DBS.
- You will be supporting students with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties.
- This is a full-time role and your working hours would be between half past 8 and half past 3 (with the exceptions of weekly staff meetings)
- The school is situated in an easily accessible area of Leeds, with ample parking and excellent public transport links.
- Pay is weekly and will be between £325 and £350 per week.
