Special Needs Teaching Assistant - 1:1 - Challenging Behaviour - Halesowen
Celsian are currently working with an amazing special school based in Halesowen who are recruiting a new special needs teaching assistant to work on a 1:1 basis with a year one pupils who has Autism and Challenging Behaviour.
They are holding interviews as soon as possible to find the right candidate for this long-term role, this is a new pupil coming into this special school who has a history of Challenging Behaviour. The main concern is the behaviour, the pupil may get physical but they do not know the full nature of the pupil's behaviour until he starts with them.
They are looking for an experienced special needs teacher who has worked with behavioural problems and KS1. They want hands on experience and will be looking for that to shine through during the interview.
You will be working on a full-time, long-term basis until the end of the academic year. Your hours will be 8:30am-4:00pm.
The right candidate will need:
- Experience working with Autism.
- Experience working with Challenging Behaviour.
- Minimum of one years' experience working within special schools or SEND settings.
- TEAM TEACH, PECS or Makaton is desirable but not necessary.
- DBS on the update service or willing to obtain one.
