At Celsian Education we are currently working in partnership with a specialist setting in the North of Leeds who currently require an additional support assistant to work with students who are on the autistic spectrum.

The ideal candidate would be empathetic and confident in managing challenging behaviours, with a background of working with children and vulnerable people with SEN.

Team Teach training would be preferred but can be provided to candidates who havent completed the training.

The school provides support for students aged between 3 and 19 years who have Autism and other SEND and therefore find it difficult to communicate and interact. The ideal candidate will have worked with non-verbal students previously and have Makaton or PECS knowledge and training.

The school has excellent resources to facilitate the varying and complex needs of its students and the staff team are extremely dedicated to creating a safe and effective learning environment and catering the lessons and activities to each individual need.

You will be required to assist students with all aspects of learning, adhering to their EHCP (Education Health Care Plan), this may be on 1:1 basis in some instances.

The ideal candidate would be nurturing and committed to helping students reach their potential, despite any unique barriers. You will be flexible and adaptable, encouraging students and adopting a positive approach ensuring that children are engage with lessons and activities.
