At Celsian Education we are currently recruiting for a 1:1 teaching assistant to work with a child who has Autism, supporting them through the school day and ensuring they are engaged in learning. You must have previous experience supporting children and young people in an educational setting with additional learning needs such as autism.
The role is based in an SEN provision attached to a mainstream independent school, although you will be predominantly based within the provision you will also support the child in some mainstream lessons, ensuring that the lesson is accessible to them and creating a calm, safe environment for learning. A good curriculum knowledge and confidence managing challenging behaviours is essential.
This is a full-time, long term role with the view of permanent employment for the right candidate. The working hours are 8:30 until 15:30, term time only.
We are looking for someone who has an extensive knowledge of autism and who can really commit to ensuring that the student receives access to an enriched education.
