Specialist Learning Mentor - Wakefield - ASAP Start - 1:1

Are you an experienced learning mentor with a history of supporting students with Autism?

Do you have a deep knowledge of Autism and a passion for helping students with SEND?

If so, we have an exciting new opportunity for you!

At Celsian Education we are working with an independent specialist provision who currently require a Learning Mentor to work 1:1 with a student who has Autism. Experience working with students who are non - verbal would be beneficial, but an understanding of Autism is essential.

You will predominantly be working on a 1:1 basis with the student in the provision delivering the lessons that the class teacher has prepared. You will also take the student into some mainstream lessons, supporting then with that transition and ensuring you create a calm environment.

Role specifics:

- This is a full-time role due to begin as soon as possible and be on-going for the rest of the academic year.

- You will be working 1:1 with a student with Autism.

- The pay is between £70 and £80 per day paid on a weekly basis.

- Team teach training would be advantageous but can be provided.

- The school is in Wakefield, easily accessible with on site parking.

All candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check that is registered on the online update service and relevant up to date references.
