Special Needs Teaching Assistant - SNTA - SEND Leeds - Autism - ASD ASC - Complex Needs - Complex Communication At Celsian Education we are currently looking for teaching assistants who have experience working with children and young people who are on the autistic spectrum to work within a specialist setting in Leeds.

The school caters for students with varied needs including Autism and PMLD, they currently require a teaching assistant to help support in a class where the students have complex communication needs. Many students are nonverbal therefore experience using communication aids such as PECS and Makaton would be beneficial, but these courses can be provided. You must, however, have recent experience supporting students with Autism and have a good understanding of ASD.

You will be working with students who are currently working at an Early Years Level, so good EYFS knowledge would also be advantageous.

The school has excellent resources for the students and are looking for someone who can really add to the team and be dedicated to ensuring they create a safe, calm environment for learning and building strong meaningful relationships with the students.

The role is for a general teaching assistant to work with the whole class, this will also include doing 1:1 work with students who require more focused attention.

Successful applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check that is registered on the online update service as well as relevant and up to date references.
