1:1 Teaching Assistant - PMLD - Autism - LeedsWe are currently looking for an experienced Special Needs Teaching Assistant to work within a school in North Leeds supporting a student on a 1:1 basis. You must have previous experience working with children and young people who have Special Educational Needs and be confident in your ability to manage any challenging behaviours and tailor lessons and activities according to individual learning needs.

The student you will be working with has Autism as well as medical needs, although there are specialist staff on site to deal with any medical needs, experience working with individuals with medical needs would be beneficial. Autism experience and understand is essential.

The ideal candidate will be calm, patient and adaptable. The school are looking for someone who can build a trusting and meaningful relationship with the student, therefore engaging the student in learning and ensuring all areas of lessons and activities are accessible to them.

This is a full-time role due to begin after the October half term and run to the end of the academic year, with the view to go permanent with the school for those seeking permanent employment. We are looking for someone who will commit to this role as the student requires consistency.
