An exceptional secondary school based in Birmingham is working in partnership with Celsian Education, seeking an experienced and qualified SENCO.

Starting January 2021, we require an outstanding SENCO who will contribute to the continued improvement in attainment and standards at this OUTSTANDING Ofsted rated secondary school.

This is a great opportunity to work within a highly ambitious school who have high academic and behavioural expectations and to become part of a supportive team of determined leaders and governors to continue to raise standards in teaching and achievements.

As a SENCO, you will be an experienced teacher with previous experience of leading and coordinating provisions for special education needs students. Your responsibilities will include managing and coordinating the well-being, learning and education of all SEN pupils within the School. You will have an enthusiasm and passion for providing the best individual academic opportunities for all SEN pupils as well as managing and overseeing a team of teaching assistants.

Requirements:

  • Qualified SENCO
  • Must hold a UK recognised teaching qualification, i.e. BSc QTS, BA QTS, CERT ED, PGCE, B.Ed
  • Have QTS or QTLS and are registered with either IfL or The Education & Training Foundation.
  • Secondary school experience
  • Be an inspirational role model; committed to their own learning and that of others
  • Have a positive mind-set and a desire to develop the whole person
  • Happy to get involved in whole school life
