Behaviour Support Worker BSW Leeds - West Leeds Special Educational Needs - Special Needs - SEN - SEMH

At Celsian Education we are currently looking for a strong and confident Behaviour Support Worker to work in a Specialist Setting in Leeds. The school caters for students with SEMH and other additional learning needs, therefore we are looking for someone who is experienced working with children and young people and is confident in managing challenging behaviours.

Team Teach training would be advantageous but can be provided. Experience using de-escalation techniques is essential.

You will be supporting students on both a 1:1 and small group basis, delivering lessons and activities provided by the class teacher and under their instruction. You will also be involved in the planning and preparation of the lessons and activities, tailoring them to the students individual needs.

The students are both primary and secondary aged so experience working across the ages would be beneficial. Whether in an educational or residential environment.

The ideal candidate will be confident, empathetic and able to build trusting relationships with young people. Your main role will be to engage students in learning that for various factors have become disengaged and disinterested, using their own interests and positive reinforcements.

The school are welcoming and extremely supportive, you will be joining a team of dedicated practitioners who work tirelessly to create a calm and simulating environment for the students in their care.

The school is situated in an easily accessible with parking on site and good public transport links.

You will need to provide up to date references and for those that have been working overseas, an overseas police check.

This is a full time, long term role with the view of going onto permanent employment with the school.
