SEND Teaching Assistant Required to work with students who are 16+Leeds School - Full Time - January Start Special Needs - SEND - Autism - ADHD

At Celsian Education we are currently recruiting for a confident, outstanding teaching assistant who has experience supporting students with Autism and other SEND.

The role is based mostly in a specialist provision for learners who are aged between 16 and 19 with additional learning needs, you will be require to work some days at the main school site supporting the same students in a different environment.

The focus is mainly on life skills and preparation for adulthood, your days will consist of both lessons and teaching of social skills such as budgeting, cooking and how to deal with social interactions. This is a role where every day will be varied and different and you will be really contributing to the progression and move into adult life.

The ideal candidate will come from a background of having worked with young adults with special needs and a knowledge of how to engage and motivate students in the school day. You must be confident in managing challenging behaviours, Team Teach training would be beneficial but can be provided.

This is a full time role due to begin in January, the working hours are between 8:30 and 15:30. The school is situated in West Leeds and both sites have adequate parking and good public transport links.
