This SEN Teaching Assistant post is for those with experience working with children with additional needs; to work with students on both a 1:1 basis and support the whole class. You will be working under the guidance of the class teacher to ensure that all students receive the same opportunities for progression.
You will be supporting with behaviour and communication; within the class you will be working in there are some non-verbal students who will often getting frustrated with activities and which can portray as aggressive. Therefore, previous experience of working with non-verbal students and using de-escalation techniques and communication tools will be essential.
