Teacher of Basic Skills - Leeds - Full Time
At Celsian Education we are currently looking for a Teacher who has experience with students with SEND to teach within a small alternate provision in Leeds. This is a full time role due to begin after the Easter break and run to the end of the academic year.
You must have previous experience of teaching students with SEMH and other Special Educational Needs and be confident in your ability to manage challenging behaviours. This is a small provision that supports KS3 and KS4 learners who have additional learning needs, you will mostly be teaching English, Maths and Science.
The provision aims to provide the students with the tools and support that they need in order to return back to mainstream, most of the learning will be done within the provision but students will also be encouraged to take part in mainstream lessons to try to transition that move.
You must be creative and able to tailor the learning to unique and individual learning needs. We are looking for someone who is able to take a caring, nurturing approach and establish meaningful relationships with the students.
Pay for this role will vary dependent on teacher pay scale.
The ideal Teacher will:
Be passionate about supporting vulnerable student and willing to go the extra mile to ensure they receive equal opportunities to an enriched education
Have a proven record of good behaviour management, team teach training would be beneficial
Have high expectations of behaviour, achievement and progress, with a real commitment to inclusion
Be able to build positive relationships with students, parent/carers, professionals and the staff team
Requirements:
· You must either hold or be willing to process an enhanced DBS check that is registered on the update service.
· We will require relevant and up to date references
· Overseas clearance will be needed for those who have lived or worked outside of the UK for over 6 months within the last 5 years.
