Learning Support - Teaching Assistant - Special Educational Needs - SEND SEN
At Celsian Education we are currently looking for a Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs to join a successful team within a Special School in Leeds.
You will be supporting students with a variety of different special needs on either a 1:1 or small group basis, providing high levels of support and care and ensuring that each child receives equal opportunities in the classroom. The school supports students with a wide range of different and varying special needs, including autism, ADHD, PMLD and Downs syndrome. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have a background of working with special needs, confidence that they can adapt well to unique needs and ways of learning and the ability to manage any challenging behaviours.
The school has students aged 3-19 years old and has excellent on-site facilities and resources. It is in an easily accessible area of Leeds, with on site parking or good public transport links. This is a full time role, due to begin as soon as possible and continue for the rest of the academic year. We are looking for a passionate, dedicated teaching assistant who is willing to commit to this role and provide the students with routine and a calm learning environment.
- You must have some background of working with students with special educational needs and learning difficulties.
- You will either have or be willing to process an enhanced DBS check and provide relevant references.
- Childcare/SEND qualifications would be beneficial, but experience is essential. Training or experience with Makaton or PECs would also be a bonus but can be provided.
- You must be able to work full time, term time only between the hours of 8:30 and 15:30.
