SEN Teacher

Celsian Education are proud to be working with the leading special school within Birmingham who are looking for a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team on a day to day basis.

This school cater to a range of students with disabilities including Severe Learning Difficulties, Moderate Learning Difficulties, Autistic Spectrum Disorder as well as speech and communication difficulties ranging from moderate to severe and complex levels. They have received an 'outstanding' Ofsted report and cater to the ages of 4-19 years old.

You will be working with a passionate and supportive team of Teachers and Teaching Assistants.

Your roles and responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver well-structured lessons an SEN-friendly way
  • To be the first point of call to the TA and pupils
  • Preparing exciting and engaging activities
  • Ability to adapt teaching to meet pupils' needs
  • Ensure the classroom is always safe and tidy
  • Be vigilant and ensure safeguarding is followed

Key Skills Required:

  • QTS or equivalent
  • Sound knowledge of the national primary curriculum
  • Knowledge and experience of teaching vocational subjects would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience working within a SEN environment or are passionate to do so.
