Special Needs Teaching Assistant Required To start after Easter Full Time, Long Term, Temp to PermNorth Leeds

Do you have previous experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs on a 1:1 basis? Are you confident in working with children and young people with complex needs? If so, we have a fantastic opportunity for you to join a welcoming SEN school in the North of Leeds.

About the role:

· You will be working with a child on a 1:1 basis who has complex learning needs, the school are looking for someone who has experience with Autism and other Special Needs. · You will be supporting with all aspects of the school day, ensuring that they remain engaged in the learning and activities set by the class teacher.· This is a full-time role, due to begin after the Easter break (19th of April) and be for the rest of the academic year with the view to then go permanent. · The working hours are between 8:30 and 15:30 term time only. · You must have a background of supporting children and young people with Special Needs, whether in a classroom or residential setting and be confident in your ability to provide a high level of care and to manage challenging behaviours. · Communication aids such as Makaton and PECs would be beneficial, but this training can be provided.
