At Celsian Education we recruit staffing for Special Needs Schools across West Yorkshire on a short and long term basis, we are currently recruiting for a long term teaching assistant to work in a secondary SEN base attached to a mainstream high school.
This is a full-time role due to begin after the Easter break, supporting learners with learning difficulties who struggle in mainstream school. Your main responsibilities will be ensuring that students are engaged in learning and that the classroom is inclusive for all learning needs. The focus in this Special Needs Base is to provide students with the support they need to transition into mainstream lessons, therefore we are looking for someone who can create strong, meaningful relationships with the students that help to grow confidence and create a calm environment.
· This is a full-time role due to begin after the Easter break. The working hours are 8am until 15:15 Monday to Friday (term time only).· You will be supporting learners with SEND such as autism, SEMH and ADHD. · Experience with Special Educational Needs is essential, and the ideal candidate will be confident in managing challenging behaviours. · You will be working with students in KS3 and KS4 so must be confident supporting with the secondary curriculum. · The school is located in Leeds, with on site parking and excellent public transport links.
