An Ofsted rated Outstanding secondary school in Kirklees is looking for a high-quality Geography Teacher from the start of May, until the end of the summer term. The school will also be needing a permanent Geography Teacher in September as well, so this is a good opportunity to make a good impression and potentially put yourself in the frame for the permanent job. Initially, at least, it will be on a supply basis.
This school are looking for a qualified Geography Teacher who can build excellent relationships with students and can plan and deliver high quality lessons. You will need to be able to promote a positive culture for learning, and through your teaching, be keen to help develop the thinking skills of students. In addition to teaching what is on the Geography curriculum, you will also be expected to think of new ways of improving the reading and writing skills of students - something the school is big on.
This is a small school, rated "outstanding", where students thrive because of the support they receive from teachers and other staff. Behaviour is very good, which in no small part down to the high levels of engagement that their teachers engineer for them.
