Teaching Assistants Required

Do you have a passion for working with children and young people?

Do you have experience supporting learners with autism and other special educational needs?

We are working on a new and exciting opportunity for specialist teaching assistants to join a successful SEND school on a full-time basis. The school is located in Leeds and the post will be on a long-term basis with the view of going to onto a permanent contract with the school.

Your main duties will be:

- Supporting students throughout the school day with all aspects of learning and activities, this may sometimes be on a 1:1 basis.

- Engaging students in learning, getting to know their individual needs and unique qualities and using this information to make learning more accessible.

- Liaising with the class teacher and other support assistants around the progress of the students

- Managing challenging behaviours and deescalating situations

- Being a positive and calming influence on the students.

We are looking for someone who comes from a background of working with Special Needs and has an understanding of autism and other SEND. Relevant qualifications and CPD would be beneficial but we can provide relevant CPD.
