Cerlsian Education are recruiting for brilliant secondary schools across Derbyshire for temporary and daily supply work as a Behaviour Mentor. Our schools provide quality education for children within the local area, providing the foundations for their pupils' development towards GCSEs and A Levels. Teaching Assistants are vital to the overall learning and development of pupils at the school, tailoring their approach to optimise learning opportunities.

Behaviour Mentor- Secondary School - Derbyshire

Our schools cater for boys and girls aged 11 to 18 years. They provide quality teaching to children in the local area, producing high results at GCSE.

This Role is not predominantly based on attainment of good grades but about nurturing involvement where students with social emotional and mental health issues can engage with mainstreem education and thrive.

The schools work effectively with all members of their community to provide a safe and nurturing environment, de-escalating challenging behaviour and promoting positive relationships.

Behaviour Mentor- Secondary School SEMH- Person Specification -

Thesuccesful Behaviour Mentor applicant will be a recent university graduate or current postgraduate student; hold strong literacy and numeracy skills; a specialist in English, Mathematics or a Science subject; be enthusiastic, proactive and engaging; be able to provide effective support to all children under direction of the subject teachers, including those with special educational needs; be approachable to all pupils and act as a behavioural role model.

  • Passionate and empathetic Behaviour Mentor
  • Previous experience working with Special Educational Needs
  • Strong GCSE results English / Maths / Science - good background subject knowledge
  • Proven behaviour management strategies and emphatic listening skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Successful Applicants will be subject to references and an up to date DBS with update service or be willing to apply for a new DBS.

About the Role - Behaviour Mentor

As a Behaviour Mentor you will be supporting pupils in Key Stage 3, 4 and 5, fostering a love of learning and embedding positive mental health.
